I don't have too much to report cause our boy is still in surgery, but I can tell you that i KNOW he is in good hands as we speak. He is also knocked way out and has no idea what is going on, which soothes me beyond belief. The audacity for cancer to invade his young body in the first place, i still can't believe it's happening to him, but i'm so grateful that we are removing it from his body at this very moment so he can start to heal.
A few good things to mention:
1. Today just so happens to be the "Feast of Gaurdian Angels", a catholic tradition.
2. Mike Copps (Andy's stepdad) was just telling us about when he lived in New Jersey, how they all talked about the "Top Ten Days" you get up there, as related to weather, when the day is so perfect and the air feels so good, there's nothing you'd want to change about it. Well, this morning Andy and I took our usual stroll around the neighborhood to get some good ol' fresh air before we came in for surgery. Andy said to me he thought it was indeed a TOP TEN DAY. It is truly an epic day in Colorado-the leaves are beautiful, the air is crisp and comfortable, and I was so glad Andy got to experience and appreciate the day before he's all holed up in the hospital for awhile. (I'm moving in with him, by the way. I hear those cots are quite comfy!)
3. The surgeon (who is the number one surgeon for colons out here-nothing but the best for my man) came in to meet us this morning and said to us all, "this is a GOOD DAY! This is the day we make him better!" I know he is taking good care of him.
We anxiously await the surgeon to come out here somewhat soon to give us an update, so I'll be sure to let you all know. Keep praying and sending your love-we can feel it and it heals us all!!!!

Yahooo! I agree with a top ten day girl. It is a beautiful day. Andy will be better than ever after the Doc does his deed. Thanks for all the frequent updates!Love you!!!!
I have been with crossed fingers and strong faith all day. I keep looking west to have moments of silence and feel positive that the healing process is now in action.

Oh sweet Meredith - Thanks for taking the time to keep us in the loop. This is indeed an amazing Colorado day. The occasional breeze just puts it over the top!
