Nothing like a good one for me from the hottest lady on this planet. This site is working not only as entertainment for me, but also a great place for mere and I to air our thoughts and pump each other up about this task before us.
hello there you two, andy, i've never met ya, but i hope to sooner than later. meredith, word is being well-kept at work, but being the people-watcher (and listen-er!) that i am (some might call it eavesdropping, but that sounds so... rude ;) i caught wind today of what y'all have going on. i just want tell you that my thoughts are with you, that i read through all the blogs, and flicked off cancer a good few times (one for you, one for my dad, one for my aunt, it could go on and on...) and that i am now concentrating on sending smiles. it sounds like you are doing amazingly well at making your own, but you can never have too many coming in. i love your spirit, both of you, and i fully believe in the power of your mind and your energy and your INTENTION. and it's all in the right place. i will be sending my intention your way too, for healing and smiles and STRENGTH even in the times you can't smile.
Hi Dut-Mer, wanted to give my 2 cents about helping with your mindset. IMO it is OK to have all the emotions you are experiencing; in fact it is very healthy. It shows you are human and going through a needed process to get to the right place emotionally to handle your future. Fear, anxiousness, trepidation, etc., believe it or not are your friends as they will prepare you for the chanllenges ahead. Chemo is not easy and will take great emotional/physical strength by both you, but once you are on the other side (6 mos.) it will be a sweet day and how happy you will be to have mastered the challenge. Think about how you felt before the operation...you had fear, anxiety and now that it is over you can say, "it was tough, but boy am I glad I had it done and I'm feeling so much better". This is a marathon, not a sprint and you two will win the race. I offer a concept that maybe you have not considered; embrace this experience instead of fearing/hating it. Some good will come from all this (in fact some good has already happened); some good things you don't even know about yet, will service. It has brought you two closer than ever before, you never knew your family and friends loved you so, you have made some decisions that you were waivering over and most importantly, you have a new perspective about the gift of life and the beauty of each day, flower, sunrise, a shower, a poop, beng in your own bed, etc. Yes, embrace each emotion and see the good in it and know that you are blessed with family, friends, co-workers, etc. who think you are special. Out of adversity comes a Pheonix of opportunities and moments you could not have experienced without knowing hardship. Trust me on this, as you know I have had some challenges myself. One final thought, life is challenging and no one ever promised you it would be easy; but life is good when you have a good attitude...and you and Mere have great attitudes. Keep on 'truckin and when you feel upset, take your pillow and beat the heck out of it with your fist and when you are worn out say, "OK, I got that out of my system and I'm moving forward". I love you Dut-Mer and I'm so very proud of the people you have become. Our country is in good hands with young people like you. Go you hairy Dawgs...and yes, Noles too.
great pep talk. you would not be normal if you did not need them. meredith just so happens to be the best at what she does. you are in good hands, andy. mere- you will need pep talks too, and we are all out here for both of you!
