When I was a kid, my mom was utterly embarrassed at the looks I received for wearing a t shirt with the above graphics on it to All Saints Church (our church in ATL). It was 'the ripper' shirt from Powell & Peralta's Ray Rodriguez board of the late 70's, and somewhat of a famous image in the, then fledgling, world of skateboarding. I loved that shirt, man. Anyway, times have changed, skateboarding has gotten HUGE and there are reams and reams of skate graphics. But, this one image is still classic and for me, reminds me so much of childhood. I found this neat art show going on where 58 artists all replicate this art in their style. Check out some art here and the story here.

Wow, good find Dut. I also had that board (the gray version) and was the shame of Towson, MD. Those were great times...
Well, not UTTERLY embarrassed...yikes, who would have thought you'd remember that? Now I'm utterly embarrassed for being such an uptight mom.
Hope you remember some good stuff, too? :)
oh i don't blame ya mom. not exactly a good choice as a church shirt, in retrospect

gee Paddy S, if you STILL had that board today.....(unbroken, of course). Some of the old ones are going for mucho dinero.
And Sue, my children attend services wearing some really interesting t shirts also... ( but I always give myself points for having them THERE).... xoxoo
